VeriStik™ Intelligent Printed Sensors

The word Veristik is derived from the Latin word Verus meaning Verify or Truth...

*

Everything we view in life contains information. Much of this information is ignored and the true meaning is often found by paying attention.

*

Veristik™ technology embeds information into objects and displays information that is readable by humans and machines. Much of the information displayed is supplemental. This means that there is primary and secondary information available. The secondary information may only become important or meaningful during certain events or situations. While the primary information may be desirable for multiple purposes at many times.

*

The technology used to create Veristik™ Intelligent Sensors is called Graphically Encoded Icons (or GEIs). The ability to create changing patterns of visual information that can be human and/or machine readable.

*

The end result is a layering of graphical information that creates a composite of information that can be authenticated with relevance. Some of the information embedded can also be dynamic and intelligent which means that a complete set of information can be encoded as a ‘Set of Information’ that can be processed by multiple devices and humans for a variety of purposes.

Veristik Intelligent Sensors

How does it work?

Utilizing patented Graphically Encoded Icon (GEI) Technology

*

Let’s start with images that you see every day.

*

Gauges are a Graphical representation of information that allow us to see data visually:

*

A gauge (or meter) is a measurement tool that shows information for a specific attribute that we interpret as a quantified measurement. Here are some example tools that you may recognize:

*

Gauges, meters and displays are common measurement tools that show information for specific attributes that we interpret as quantified measurements. This works quite well as instrumentation; we use it every day while we drive and manage our lives.

*

One limitation is that the information must be viewed with perspective where the user must make assumptions as to the purpose, meaning, relevance, and assignment of the information’s source.

*

This often leads to misinterpretations that are due to user errors or false assumptions during the data acquisition process. This could lead to misinterpreting the encoded information in the graphical display or gauge.

*

Background information on Graphical Information beyond gauges.

*

STATIC IDENTIFICATION (meaning it does not change) – Usually has only one purpose to ID a label:

*

STATIC IDENTIFICATION with a Splash Message – Usually a Logo (fixed messaging for human viewing):

*

*

GRAPHICALLY ENCODED INFORMATION (GEI) with a Relevant Informational Message – DATA:

*

*

VERISTIK GEI shows quantitative measured information along with authentication and data location

*

Machine readable with camera, scanner as well as human readable!

*

GRAPHICALLY ENCODED INFORMATION with Dynamic Switching Qualitative Messaging:

*

*

A VERISTIK GEI Label is dynamic and responsive to a LATCHED condition such as a Temperature Switch.

*

Dynamic Ink is utilized to indicate whether a label with encoded location and purpose has experienced a temperature above (or below) a specific programmed temperature. Alerting through IoT to the Cloud.

*

GEI Labels - Stickers - Badges can include:

Thermochromic, Photochromic UV, Electrochromic,  Laser Detection, Microfluidic, Bacteria, Radiation, Vibration, Air Quality, pH, Moisture, Humidity, Impact and Strain indicators among others.

*

Information displayed on GEI Labels can be scanned or monitored by single scanners or multiple cameras feeding an IoT “Lens” system of monitoring for objects, devices or subsystems that are displaying dynamic data information. This method of utilizing GEI technology for mass deployment of Intelligent Sensor Labels would minimize the expense of electronic sensor IoT modules and battery powered data acquisition modules in use today.

*

Dynamic GEI Labels can be latched and continuously responsive utilizing multiple purposes of data including food safety labeling, Encryption of Critical Data with changing keys, Blockchain validation and authentication including simple security data access by humans.
